From ‘November Girl’ 1967. November Girl contains many of the most important images of Sam’s career and this is one of them. The ‘statue’ in the background is a bit of a mystery, was it actually a model with white fabric around her arms or an actual plaster cast of an ancient sculpture? We may never know. The wet leaf is held onto the sheet of glass with capillary action. Sam was intensely passionate about nature and constantly incorporated it into his work.
The print is vintage silver gelatin 37.0cm x 30.0cm (14.5” x 11.8”). Frame Dimensions: 62.2cm x 55.3cm (24.5” x 21.7). Fully certified by the estate.
The frame is solid ash with 8-ply cotton rag, museum grade board for the passepartout. It is glazed with UV resistant acrylic.
